03 / HOW IT STARTED

Construction roots.
A lifelong
dream.

Justin LaughlinFOUNDER & OWNER

My father has been in construction all his life, and I’ve always loved this kind of work. My dream has always been to work for myself, transform homes and businesses, and turn old, run-down homes into polished jewels again.

While I was working in the oilfield and refineries, that dream stayed with me.

When I started Bayou Blue Inflatables, it wasn’t a side hustle. It was a business I planned to grow. I’ve always believed that if you’re going to start a business, you should treat it like a real business from the beginning. That first company gave me the confidence to keep building my dream.

There were hard lessons and setbacks along the way, but they never changed what I wanted to do. Bayou Blue Development brings that lifelong love of construction into the work I want to build my future around—helping people see the possibilities in their homes and businesses and bringing those spaces back to life.

“I’m grateful for my wife and our four kids, for a community that supports us, and for all the blessings the good Lord has given me.”

This is personal to me. Thank you for being part of the story.
